The size of your bankroll is definitely important to your success when playing blackjack. If you’ve ever played the game, you know that there are winning and losing streaks. If you have a desire to remain in the game and not go broke, having a bankroll big enough to survive the losing streaks is essential.
The Kelly Criterion is the method most gamblers use to gauge their bankroll size. It’s a bet-to-bankroll ratio system that tells you how big the bankroll should be to play at a certain level. The equation is too long to show here, so a rule of bringing 50 bets to the table for a three-hour session will hold you over until you learn the Kelly Criterion.
That’s only for one session. You should carry a bankroll of 300-400 bets and you should have it divided into sessions. And follow your win/loss limits every time.

Most casino games are guessing games. When it comes to blackjack this is false, there is a strategy when it comes to this game. With a mathematically optimal strategy, it will maximize your wins and lessen your losses.
To understand basic strategy, you have to start thinking like a professional gambler, which means you have to understand the concept of “blackjack odds.” A professional gambler makes his or her living by always thinking in terms of odds and only betting when the odds are favorable. If you make decisions based on hunches, you may win some hands, but more often than not you will loose in the long run. There is only one correct decision for any given play, and that decision is based solely on the math.
When it comes to basic strategy here’s and example; when my hand totals 14, and the dealer shows a 10 upcard, blackjack strategy says to hit. Mathematically that is the correct play. Sometimes if you will hit that 14 and draw an 8, 9, or 10 and bust. Then the dealer will turn over his hole card, a 6, and you will realize that if you would have stood on your 14, the dealer would have had to hit his total of 16, and he would have busted with that 10. So, making the “mathematically correct” play, you lost a hind you would have won if you had violated basic strategy. As you can see, you may lose if you take a hit, but odds are against you if you take a stand.

Super 21 is a variation of regular blackjack. Although it plays like blackjack, there are many different rules between the games. The main differences are in the payout of 21 totals. Instead of getting 3 to 2 on all your 21 totals, this game pays even money on 21’s, except 2 to 1 for blackjack in diamonds and five-card 21 totals (as long as you haven’t previously doubled down in the hand). Any total of 20 or less with six cards automatically pays 1 to 1, unless you’ve already doubled down.
The house is forced to hit on a soft 17, and you’re allowed to double down on any total. The casinos usually only use one or two decks to play the game, giving them an edge of 1.36% for one deck and 1.30% for two. It’s a fun change from the usual, but the odds are better with the original.
